Kata is our free indicator for candlestick patterns. It marks the 16 textbook patterns on your TradingView chart, and every mark carries that pattern’s record on the same chart: how often price went its way in the bars that followed, against the average bar.
Hammers, shooting stars, engulfings, harami, doji stars and the rest of the patterns traders learn first, each marked as its candle closes: bullish ones below the candle, bearish ones above.
Kata counts every time each pattern printed on the chart you’re looking at, on any timeframe, and how price moved over the bars after it (you choose how many). Or read the record across a group: the Magnificent 7, the index ETFs, the crypto majors or a list of your own.
A pattern is marked when its record beats the average bar on the same chart, with enough cases to count. Hover a mark to read its record, and set an alert for the next catalogued candle.
